Abstract

This article draws on the study of semiotics to argue that the “the general purpose of university-community engagement is to find ways of linking the new ideas generated by a university into a broader, more complex social system. (p. 124). That is to say that university-community partnerships are always engaged in a process of translation. In my opinion however, this article has little applicability to the present project(s).
