Abstract

This guide, produced by the Community Based Collaboratives Research Consortium that deals with research ethics in community-university partnerships and provides a suggested protocol for this type of research. The guide includes a checklist of factors to address in developing a research agreement with community partners and a number of factors to consider in preparing to conduct the research, develop a research design and, research validity and publication. The importance of a “consensual, negotiated and flexible approach” is stressed.
