Abstract

Organizational health and well-being is critical to the success of maintaining a valuable membership base. This project elicited information from its members focused on how The Canadian Association for Young Children (CAYC) members positive experience assists the organization in determining current strengths and future direction.This inquiry focused on membership experiences that lead to recommendations supporting the board of directors with a stronger understanding of the organizations needs. The study provided information that reflects the current memberships views thus contribute an opportunity for the board to build a stronger organization, to support the development of a strategic plan.The methodology of Appreciative Inquiry was engaged to elicit valuable information from the membership. The results of focus group and survey data demonstrated members interest in and support of the organization, leading to recommendations for increasing membership and improving services offered.
