This essay explores the intrapreneurial behaviour within the co-operatives in the Gaspe Peninsula and the Magdalen Islands. At first, we locate the region of reference and its component territories. We also outline some facts of importance for the progress of co-operatives in this region, especially emphasizing the past and present importance of the co-operative movement for this region. Secondly, the author defines and explores the entrepreneurial attributes and behaviours and their evolution within collective organisations. Then, she attempts to justify the pertinence of identifying, encouraging and developing entrepreneurial behaviours within collective organisations, also called co-operative intrapreneurship.
