Abstract

Canadian Hadassah-WIZO (CHW) is a Jewish womens charitable fundraising service organization based on membership. Like many membership organizations it has been experiencing negative growth over the last 10 years. The Major Project is intended to help understand the global trends which affect CHW, as well as the internal causes which have brought about the lack of growth. As well, this research study explores ideas and approaches for attracting new members and retaining existing members. The ideas brought forward are intended to affect change in the organization when implemented; therefore an examination of organizational change is included. As well, an investigation of different leadership styles is included, in order to find the form of leadership most suitable to move the organization forward.
