Public Policy

Global challenges to socio-economic development and environmental sustainability have prompted increased efforts to find alternative strategies for development. There is a growing global movement to advance concepts and frameworks of the Social Economy as a way to address increasing inequality of social, healthy, economic and ecological conditions, to provide alternative solutions to the perceived failure of neo-liberal dominated globalization and to address the weakening social capital of communities. In countries around the world new public policy is being developed to create supportive environments for these alternative approaches.
